Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society  24th July 2021

Thank you to the Society for the invitation to judge. Whilst the entry was numerically average I did find at least 5 dogs I would be happy to award a CC to, which cannot be too bad from only 24 males present. Type is very varied as to be expected with such a mixture of different bloodlines these days but I always judge the dogs on the day as I see them, and not on pedigrees.

Open 5 (1)

Four very nice dogs here, very different but all have something to offer, my decision based purely on todays performance.

1st Wright Thomas & Boieck Vdh Uk Ir Ch Int Ch Agha Djari’s Lonesome Cowboy (imp Deu) Such a strikingly handsome male who displays such pride of race at all times no mistaking his gender. Masculine head dark eye super expression that dares you to touch him. Strong long neck to a sound well angulated front, excellent spring of rib and depth of chest, level topline and well angulated rear. Long Tail carried well. His movement when he settles to the job in hand displays such reach drive and spring to it, shown in rock hard condition and excellent coat. CC & BIS on Referees decision. Congratulations many more to come I’m sure.

2nd Lancashire & O”Donnell Drishaun Star Among Lilies JW How this brindle dog has improved, looking rather the handsome grown-up now, masculine outlook, super front and rear construction, shown in excellent body and coat, he was the third brother from this litter here today all super well made dogs worthy of their titles.

3rd Bloor Pashtari Lord Byron made up a trio of lovely dogs.
