Yorkshire Afghan Hound
Society Judging Criteria.
A1 List
For people who have previously been
approved by the Kennel Club to award
CCs in the breed, have completed their
first appointment and have the support
of the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society. (KC Policy)
A2 List
For people who fulfil all the
requirements for the A3 list, who have been
assessed in accordance with Kennel Club
requirements and accepted by the
Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list,
and have the support of the
Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society. .(KC Policy)
A3 List (Breed Specialists)
Requirements include:
a) To have had 10 active years in the
Afghan Hound Breed.
b). A minimum of seven years judging
experience in the breed and have the
support of the Yorkshire
Afghan Hound Society. (KC Policy)
c) To have fulfilled all the
requirements of the B list.
d)To have judged the breed at a minimum of
10 Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs with an adequate geographical
spread, of which one includes a 10 class or better Breed Club Open Show.
e) To have judged a minimum of 50 classes.
f) To have judged a minimum of 110 dogs.
g)To have attended a seminar given by a
Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and
passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club
Regulations and Judging
Procedures.
h)To have attended a seminar given by a
Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on
Conformation and Movement.
i) To have attended a Points of the Dog
Assessment conducted by a Kennel
Club Accredited Trainer and passed the
assessment.
j)To have attended a Breed Specific Seminar
with hands-on training run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of
Best Practice or a Breed Appreciation Day and passed an examination and/or
assessment where applicable.
k)To have bred and/or owned a minimum of
three dogs when they obtained
their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud
Book (save in exceptional
circumstances).
l) To have 12 days of stewarding
at Championship or Open Shows.
A3 List (Non-Breed Specialists)
Requirements include:
a. Minimum of seven years judging experience
in any one breed (to include five
years in this breed) and have the support of
the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society.

b. To have fulfilled all the
requirements of the B list.
c. To have judged a minimum of 50
classes in this breed.
d. To have judged 110 dogs in this breed.
e. To have awarded CCs in at least one
other breed.
f. To have attended at least one Breed
Specific Seminar with hands-on training run in accordance with the relevant
Kennel Club Code of Best Practice or Breed Appreciation Day and passed an
examination and/or assessment where applicable.
g)To have bred and/or owned a minimum of
three dogs when they obtained
their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud
Book (save in exceptional
circumstances).
h) To have 12 days of stewarding
at Championship or Open Shows.
B List (Breed Specialists)
a. To have six years experience owning and exhibiting
in this breed and have
the support of the Yorkshire Afghan Hound
Society.
b. To have judged 20 classes of this breed at a minimum of
six Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs over a minimum period of three
years.
c. To have judged 35 dogs of this breed.
d.To have attended at least one Breed
Specific Seminar with hands-on training run in accordance with the relevant
Kennel Club Code of Best Practice or Breed Appreciation Day and passed an
examination and/or assessment where applicable.
e. To have 6
days stewarding at Championship or Open Shows.
B List (Non-Breed Specialists)
a. Minimum of six years judging experience in any one
breed and have the
support of the Yorkshire
Afghan Hound Society.
b. To have judged 20 classes of this breed at a minimum of
six Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs over a minimum period of three
years.
c. To have judged 35 dogs of this breed.
d. To have attended at least one Breed
Specific Seminar with hands-on training run in accordance with the relevant
Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment
where applicable.
e. To have 6
days stewarding at Championship or Open Shows.
C List (Breed Specialists)
For aspiring judges who have shown an
interest in the breed and have the
support of the Yorkshire
Afghan Hound Society.
a. To have owned and shown an Afghan
Hound for at least three years.
b) To have attended at least one Afghan Hound Breed Club Hands On Seminar.
c. To have 6 days stewarding at
Championship or Open Shows.
C List (Non-Breed Specialists)
For aspiring judges who have shown an
interest in the breed and have the
support of the Yorkshire
Afghan Hound Society.
a. Minimum of three years judging
experience in any one breed.
b) To have attended at least one Afghan Hound Breed Club Hands On Seminar.
c. To have 6 days stewarding at
Championship or Open Shows.
